More than a Wham Back
One of the bigger surprises of spring camp was the emergence of Tripp Taylor on the defensive side of the ball. After spending most of his first year in Athens working with the offensive as Georgia's wham back or fullback in short yardage and goal line situations Taylor got an extensive look at defensive tackle this spring.
Taylor capitalized on his chance to play defense and worked his way slowly up the depth chart until he ended up as a second team defensive tackle along with Kade Weston behind starters Jeff Owens and Geno Atkins.
"Following spring Geno and Jeff were the first two and then me and Kade were the second team. I do not plan on moving down and I will work as hard as everybody else. Right now I am just trying to move up," said Taylor.
