Rebels can't put it all together
The Ole Miss football team has ridden a seesaw all season long, struggling to play a complete game.
In the Rebels' 17-3 loss at Auburn Saturday evening, it was more of the same. The Ole Miss defense played well, the special teams play was fine but the offense was ugly.
While he Rebel defense allowed 420 yards of total offense, the Rebels (2-7, 0-6 SEC) kept Auburn from putting points on the board.
Ole Miss head coach Ed Orgeron said the defense needed to step up after a sub par performance against Arkansas.
"We were much improved. I was happy with the linebackers and there was much improvement with the defensive fronts," he said. "Our safety helped us a lot and I have to give credit to the defensive staff, they worked very hard and we were disappointed in giving up 44 points against Arkansas.
"We felt we had a good week of preparation and our linebackers are fitting better and guys are playing hard."
