The first play of the first scrimmage of Tony Franklin's first season at Auburn spoke volumes.

Auburn's first-team offense lined up with quarterback Kodi Burns in the shotgun and five receivers split wide. The play - a quick pass to tight end Tommy Trott - fell incomplete.

But the point was made: This is a new era for AU's offense.
